Opening of WEAVE calls

WEAVE allows the financing of personnel, equipment and operations on the basis of a bi- or trilateral project between one or more researchers from the FWB and those from other partner agencies of the FNRS as part of this initiative.

Thus, researchers from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation can participate in calls for projects from European partner agencies of the FNRS as part of the Weave initiative. In this case, if the submitted proposal is selected by the partner agency, the F.R.S.-FNRS will cover the budget of the French-speaking Belgian part. 

In 2026, researchers from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation can participate in calls:

• « CORE » from the National Research Fund (FNR) of Luxembourg – Rules for participation FNR Call
  • Call closes: April 28, 2026
• « Project encouragement » from the Swiss National Scientific Research Fund (SNSF) – Rules for participation SNSF Call
  • Call closes: April 8, 2026
• « Individual Research Grants  » of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) of Germany – Rules for participation DFG Call
  • Call closes: April 8, 2026
• « Junior and Senior Research projects  » from the Fonds Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek (FWO) of Belgium – Rules for participation FWO Call
  • Call closes: April 8, 2026
